Pure pomegranate juice is tart and heavy on its own. Cut with orange and a lot of sparkling water, it turns into something you would order at a bar without missing the alcohol.
Build it straight in the glass. No shaker, no syrup.
What you need
| How much | What |
|---|---|
| 1/2 cup | unsweetened pomegranate juice |
| 1 | orange, juiced |
| 1 cup | cold sparkling water |
| 2 strips | orange peel |
| 1 cup | ice |
How to make it
- Fill two tall glasses with ice.
- Divide the pomegranate juice and orange juice between them.
- Top each with sparkling water and stir once.
- Twist a strip of orange peel over each glass and drop it in.
Cook’s notes
- Check the label: some pomegranate juice is cut with apple and sugar.
- A splash of gin or vodka works if you want one.
